If you’ve been sitting on a startup idea waiting for the right moment, this is it. NIC Islamabad, Pakistan’s premier tech startup ecosystem, backed by 140+ partners and a PKR 5 million acceleration grant has opened applications for its 6th Cohort. And the clock’s ticking: applications close September 21.
Here’s a complete breakdown of who should apply, what sectors NIC is scouting for, what you actually walk away with, and exactly how to submit your application.
What is NIC Islamabad?
NIC Islamabad is a public-private partnership backed by the Ministry of IT & Telecom and Ignite, National Technology Fund. It’s a zero-equity, fully funded incubation program built to take startups from idea to investable business, with structured training, mentorship, co-working space, and direct access to investors.
The track record speaks for itself:
- 295 startups incubated
- Rs 7.88 billion in funding raised
- Rs 7.05 billion in revenue generated
- 23,597 jobs created
- Nearly 46% of incubated startups are women-led
Across all NIC centers nationwide, over 1,200 startups have been incubated, collectively raising more than Rs 21 billion in capital. ezBike, Pakistan’s first electric scooter-sharing service, is one of NIC Islamabad’s standout alumni, it went from an idea in the incubator to a funded company shaping urban mobility policy.

- HealthTech

- DeepTech
- Robotics
- SaaS
And other high-growth, tech-enabled sectors beyond this list are welcome too the common thread NIC looks for is a scalable, tech-driven, or impact-driven solution, not a specific industry label.
Who can apply?
You’re eligible for Cohort 6 if:
- You’re working on a tech-enabled, scalable, or impact-driven solution
- Your startup is at any stage, idea, MVP, or growth stage
- You’re a solo founder or part of a team
- You’re ready to commit fully to the 6-month program

What you get as a Cohort 6 founder
This isn’t a list of shiny perks — every piece of the program is designed to move your startup forward.
Co-working space. A dedicated environment to build in, surrounded by other founders doing the same — a real upgrade from working out of cafes or bedrooms.
Structured, relevant training. Curriculum built around what early-stage founders actually need: problem validation, business model design, growth strategy, financial planning, and legal essentials.
One-on-one mentorship. Direct access to mentors who’ve built and scaled companies — for pitch practice, product-market fit conversations, and founder-to-founder guidance.
Demo Day & investor access. At the end of the program, you pitch in front of investors, ecosystem leaders, and corporate partners — a high-stakes platform that opens real doors.
Media, exposure, and ecosystem entry. From national media features to invitations to international tech summits, NIC puts its startups on a stage in front of the people who matter.
Zero equity. NIC doesn’t take a stake in your company. You keep 100% ownership.
